One of my ultimate guilty pleasures is to choose a film on Netflix, run a piping hot bath and prop my iPad on top of a stack of towels. So you can only imagine my sheer delight when I discovered our room at The Pigs came equipped with an in-built TV at the foot of the bath.
The luxuries at The Pigs start from the moment you walk through the door. I was already a big fan of their 'pudding club' (it's basically a dessert buffet), but I wanted to stay the night and see if the spa rooms lived up to expectations (spoiler: they did).
Located in Edgfield, a tiny village between Norwich and the north Norfolk coast, The Pigs is a great place if you are serious about switching off (zero Vodafone coverage - but the pub has
good wifi for those who are unable to totally disconnect).
We stayed in one of the spa rooms which comes with a walk-in drench shower, fire pit and sauna.
When we arrived, we made a beeline for the bar and enjoyed drinks in front of the fire while playing board games and reading the papers - the best way to spend a lazy afternoon.
The pub supplies everything you need for an indulgent night in your spa room from robes, scented candles and oils for the sauna, to shortbread biscuits and giant marshmallows so you can make smores on your own private fire pit.
I recently received an email to say that The Pigs is planning to introduce a spa facility soon, I'll certainly be making another visit.
