We were there for the Brighton Marathon (which I will write a separate post on) so most of the time was spent running/doing yoga in the hotel gym/swimming in the hotel pool to soothe tired muscles.
However, we did
still manage to savour a few hours of walking, shopping and eating our way
around Brighton!
We stayed in the Jury’s Inn on the Waterfront which was the perfect
location. We could see the sea, prom and pier from the front of the hotel and the
back entrance took you straight out on to the Lanes – perfect!
We wandered around shopped in the little boutiques (I picked
up a few bits from Sweaty Betty and my lovely boyfriend treated me to some
jewellery) and stopped for cocktails and dinner at Casalingo, which I highly
recommend if you like proper Italian food. We also ventured up to the Pavilion - a must-see if you're going to Brighton.
We ran the marathon on the Sunday and left bright and early
the next day and headed to Goodwood (which was incredible) so sadly I didn’t
have time to devour a tub of candyfloss on the beach!
I’d definitely recommend Brighton if you fancy a little
break away – the shops, restaurants and coast are just lovely!
