THOUGHTS: WORDS OF WISDOM

I make no secret of my love for reading, and while I often lend and recommend books to friends, I rarely share any of the articles which have stayed with me.

Occasionally I will rip pages from papers and magazines, but it seems to be happening a lot less these days. I get most of my news via Instagram and Twitter, and if there's something I know I will want to read again I either like/RT it, or save it in the Pocket app (which is my new favourite thing).

Here are a few which I've felt the need to re-read recently:

This Vogue article by Bella Mackie, about being single in your 30s. She focuses on her love for life, and lack of loneliness. I was feeling a little lost a year or so ago and a lot of what is written here really helped me.

Bianca Bass is one of my favourite writers, I absolutely love her blog. She writes about careers, creativity and life. I really enjoyed this post about the quarter life crisis and this guest post from the glorious Sasha about consuming less which has taught me to put facts over feelings, focus more on being ~in the moment~ and that it's okay to put yourself first. Wise words from these ladies.

My daily email from The Pool always lands in my inbox at the same time as my train leaves for work in the morning. I always make time for this email as I find the features so relevant. This straight up piece about the quest for happiness and self help being a load of BS really interested me. It's all about trusting your instinct and saying no - a philosophy I definitely subscribe to. While I still enjoy getting lost in a self-development book, I resonated with most of this - particularly the bit about not dwelling in the past.
